Collage Quilting

Course Description Hello and welcome! I am so excited that you have decided to join me in this collage quilting class! Collage quilting can be a fun and non-stressful quilting project (like never having to worry about matching points) and is a great scrap buster!! It’s an opportunity for you as a quilter to express your creativity in a different way. In this class you will learn Laura Heine’s basic techniques for collage quilting. We will talk about supplies, fabric choices, fabric placement, background, and finishing details.

Class schedule will be as follows
10am-12:30pm - Foundation and working on main focal point of collage quilt
12:30-1:15pm – Break for Lunch (not provided)
1:15-4:00pm - Backgrounds and Finishing details

General Supply List • 1 yard of Pattern Ease Foundation. • Goddess Applique Pressing Sheet OR Precision Fusing Mat • Karen K. Buckley Medium Perfect Scissors OR Tim Holtz’s 7” Micro Serrated Snips • #2 pencil • Small cutting matt • Rotary cutter (if possible, bring an older cutter if you have one) • Small ruler (if possible, bring a 4.5” x 12.5” or one with similar dimensions) • OPTIONAL but very helpful: Curved Awl OR the Sewline Trio Mechanical Pencil that has the tracing roller rolling ball point.
